I made a small jewelry box on the lathe a while back and liked the way it turned out (see pictures below). Here is the documented production of another: a more flat and wide circular jewelry box with a screw-on lid. The material is 303 stainless steel and is produced on a Monarch 10EE lathe.
A picture is given below of the first jewelry box I'd made. This box, of a 1.5" diameter and height of 1.5", has a 28 TPI (threads per inch) screw on lead, with a 2-start thread. At the center of the lid is a disk of anodized titanium, pressed in.
